Our Core Program Areas
Education
In our communities, many children don’t have the opportunity to receive quality education leaving them to fall behind without the support to catch up. We support young people from vulnerable households to access quality education through interventions like sponsorship, spelling bees, literacy and numeracy improvement
Skilling TraINING
We train the Most at Risk vulnerable youths in the age bracket of 15 onwards who are carefully selected from the community and trained in vocational skills. The youths are trained in both formal and non-formal courses. These may be school drop outs, teenage mothers, youth living in extreme poverty etc.
Community Health
Community Health-Link (CHL)a micro insurance social scheme that works with low income communities to provide much needed health insurance using community led approaches that benefit the vulnerable communities. In Uganda,
Economic empowerment
We use world renowned model of Village Savings and Loans Associations commonly known as VSLAs which play an important role in meeting the needs of women and men whose principal purpose for accessing finance is to help them manage household cash flow, respond to life-cycle events or invest in small income-generating activities
Our programs throughout our operational area in Uganda are based on a holistic approach, which supports vulnerable children and their families even in times of crisis
About Us
Our mission is to contribute to improved livelihood for vulnerable children and their families through comprehensive approaches in education, health, economic empowerment and child protection.
Uprise Foundation is a community based organization registered in 2016, we work in Wakiso and Kampala districts, central Uganda and our core areas of operation are education, economic empowerment, community health and vocational skills training. Currently the programme has supported 85 secondary school students, 554 youth to get vocational skills, enrolled over 250 households on our community health Insurance program and worked with 5 public schools (750 learners) to improve literacy.
